Unified Communications
as the basis for your communication success

A telephone system uses the so-called principle of unified communications (UC) if it offers you a platform in the company that can be used to communicate in a wide variety of ways. This includes functions for telephony, (video) conferencing and chatting. By using one system, information and relevant data can be stored centrally for all users - so everyone has the same level of knowledge. Taking advantage of the benefits of conferencing (video or audio) in particular makes it easier for several people in different locations to work together.

The size of the company plays no role in the deployment. A UC solution is ideal for any company to significantly improve communication, collaboration and therefore productivity. The fact that employees can use the functions regardless of device and location means that you can act more flexibly and mobile - also to the benefit of your customers.

All UC functions of the 3CX telephone system are available to you with the installation (whether hosted in the cloud or locally), you do not need to book any additional services or order add-ons. There are various ways for your employees to make optimum use of the UC functions - they can either use voice-over-IP-based softphones, the 3CX web client or the app on their smartphones (Android / iOS). This means that they not only have the option of telephony at all times, but also the presence status of their colleagues, the option of starting or participating in web conferences and video conferences, the fax & voicemail-to-email function, instant messaging and the option of advising interested parties or customers on your website via chat or call.

Recognizing directly whether a particular employee is available to take a call is useful and saves time. You can save yourself the trouble of trying to forward a call if you can see that the relevant employee is not currently at work or does not want to be disturbed because they are involved in an appointment or project. This is a particularly useful function for mobile employees who do not know who is currently in the office. For the user themselves, the presence status prevents disruptive interruptions. This means for you:

  • no unsuccessful, frequent call attempts and voicemail messages
  • No unsuccessful attempts to forward customer calls
  • Presence display can be viewed on all 3CX applications (Mac, Windows, iOS and Android & Web)

Receive faxes and voicemails by e-mail

With 3CX, you don't need any additional fax server software. When you receive a fax, it is formatted as a PDF file and sent to your e-mail inbox. You can also receive messages in your mailbox as e-mail attachments, which saves you having to dial in to retrieve them. This means for you:

  • You receive voicemails conveniently as e-mail attachments
  • Faxes are sent to your e-mail inbox in PDF format

Direct communication in the chat

Instant messaging in the company is now very easy to implement, without any extra service. Your employees can chat via 3CX and thus communicate quickly. The messages can be received and sent via the corresponding 3CX applications on the work computer (Windows / Mac), on the smartphone (Android / iOS) or via the web. This means for you:

  • Real-time chat with website users
  • Send text messages at no extra cost
  • Receive and send with Mac, Windows, iOS and Android apps

Making calls via Chrome & Edge browser

3CX offers you an extension for your Chrome and Edge browser to call your contacts or answer a call using a pop-up window. You do not need to use a separate browser tab for this. With the click-to-call function, you can click on telephone numbers on websites or in your administration program (e.g. CRM) and dial them directly. There is no need to take the detour via copy/paste. This means for you:

  • Time savings for your employees
  • Automatic phone number recognition
  • Contacts are highlighted (phone numbers are underlined)
